Single product websites
Otherwise known as 'A sales page' the development of a website geared towards one single product is an art form in its own right as the usual use of certain pages such as the home page now take on a very different job.
For a product sales site to be successful it must constantly draw the visitor towards the end goal - clicking the buy now button. Because of this a single product website will usually have a very comprehensive home page describing the benefits of the product with as few links to other pages as possible - except links to the buy now page.

Extra careful attention must be placed on the flow of the home page to make sure the reader is able to either read more or buy now at any given point.
This is best achieved with clever graphic design techniques combined with short snippets of powerful sales text.
The home page is then complimented with other pages of information that give the user all the answers they may need.
This may sound a little against the previous sentence "as few links to other pages as possible" but it is actually a very good technique for gaining visitors as the more pages you have the more results you will have in the search engine results. The home page does not link to these pages itself but these pages all link to the home page. This is all part of getting visitors to your site then directing them to the buy now page or button. (Usually the home page)
Single product sales sites tend to be at the lower and of the web design price range as they usually only consist of a handful of pages.
