Real-time search update

This Thursday Yahoo unveiled its plans to launch a feature to integrate tweets into search results. This comes just days after our post highlighting Google’s own plans to integrate content from sources such as Twitter and blogs.

This news is yet another reason to get your social networking and social media presences setup and optimised to help your business get the most from the internet.

Drive people to your social media sites

When you first setup a social networking/media profile and start to customise it can feel a little bit like you are wasting your time.

How do you get people to follow your updates, look through your articles or pictures or click through your links?

A good idea can be to run some sort of a promotion which gives users an incentive to look at what you are doing and participate in some way.

The Open University, for example – are running this competition to get people buzzing around their twitter profile.

They are offering a hamper of Thornton’s chocolates to the person who makes the most interesting tweet with their twitter identifier included in the tweet…genius!
