Here at Infobox Media, we recognise the power of the Wordpress system. It is highly flexible, easy to manage and performs outstandingly with Google and the other major search engines. For these reasons – we are shifting all our company news into this blog, to sit alongside feeds to our other social networking updates and RSS.

A Wordpress blog could be harnessed to deliver stunning results to your business – driving you traffic, generating interest and discussion as well as keeping your existing customers up to date and close to home.

In this article I will briefly outline some of the outstanding plugins available through Wordpress, and how they could help your website achieve more.
·        WP Backup (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/)

this plug-in can be set up to backup your database at regular intervals. This is important as if there was ever an error with your blog which resulted in the blog being re installed then you would have lost all your information. This plug-in will automatically backup and then email a copy of your database to you.

·        XML Sitemap Generator (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/)

This plug-in will automatically rebuild your blogs sitemap every time you add or remove a post or page from your blog. It will also notify Google and yahoo every time you make a change to your blog.

·        All in One SEO(http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/)

This plug-in does exactly what it says on the tin. It is a plug-in that makes your posts SEO friendly. It takes the information you have published and uses it for the meta data to make everything unique.

·        RSS Footer – (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/rss-footer/)

RSS footer places a footer on the bottom of each post in your RSS feed. This is handy because you can use it to place a link back to your website. This is good because it is not uncommon for a website to “scrape” the content from your blog and publish it else ware on the Internet. If a website does this then they will also scrape the link back to your website so even though they have taken your blog post they are also providing a link back to your website.

·        SEO Smart Links (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-automatic-links/)

The SEO Smart links plug-in automatically creates links from given keywords in your blog. In the admin system you will be able to control what links are created and how many. I would recommend setting up keywords and have it automatically link to your category pages, helping create better internal linking from your blog to your website. You should pick a selection of related keywords in this section, be careful however not to incorporate too many.
