Mobile Websites are becoming increasingly popular by the day, and its about time too. The moby website market made its first appearance in 2005 and for a few years never managed to stir much excitement in the creative minds of web designers or the profitable minds of business owners. It was a bit of a let down to say the least.
The culprit was WAP. Launched as the first wave of the mobile internet WAP was hyped to be a major new thing in the world of digital marketing. The problem with WAP was that it was seriously restricted in what it could download from cyberspace to display on the small screen. This, coupled with the inabilty of the average mobile device at the time, to read, let alone display, even the most basic of code languages pretty much rendered WAP useless. And it still is.
Luckily the last few years have seen major developments to the point where mobile devices can read and display just about any type of internet programming language. This coupled with the ability to connect to the internet from a handheld device just as fast as a desktop device has now finally made the mobile internet a realistic place for business owners to market themselves - and right now couldnt be a better time.
The internet is saturated with websites for just about any need. If there are business's out there that are still not online its either becuase they are brand new or they simply dont want to be online. (Or they broke the rules and got banned.)
Anyway, the point is that almost everyone is online these days because it is beneficial and profitable to be online. When it comes to the mobile internet the case is now the same. If you are not on the mobile web, you will be losing out on customers and clients and this loss will only grow over time, after all if you are on the move and need to find something, what better way to find it than using the mobile internet?
Even though the mobile phone market is a very important place to be for any business RIGHT NOW is a time to be taken advantage of. The mobile net is about to explode and currently less than 1 in 1000 websites are ready to display on the mobile net. There are already directories featuring purely mobile sites and rumours that as phones progress some of them will only look for sites that are flagged as mobile friendly.
Putting things this way it is easy to see why the mobile net is a great place to be right NOW.
Think of it another way. If you are a plumber and there are a thousand other plumbers in your trading area only 1 of them will be ready for mobile website vistors.
Imagine there was only 1 out of every 1000 plumbers actually on normal net. You can guess which of those 1000 plumbers is going to have a great year.
